AI for IT Support & System Admins Overview

This hands-on course builds on the experience you already have, so it does not start you from zero. Across eight Skill Sprints, you use Claude and ChatGPT with practice tickets, logs, and scripts to diagnose problems, automate safe routine tasks, and write documentation others can use. Every Skill Sprint ends with a small result you can use, explain, or build on.

  • Mostly hands on: you build each skill by doing it

  • A checking habit: you learn to catch AI errors before they matter

  • Guidance throughout: progress reviews show where you need support and what to do next

  • Two tracks: choose workplace growth or job search, with shared skills at the core

Delivered using OCA’s Skill Sprint™ Method with hands-on practice, real-world exercises, and instructor-led feedback.

Prerequisites

The following are needed before you start:

  • Working experience in IT support or system administration, however recent

  • A computer with internet access

All practice tickets, logs, and sample scripts are included in your course material, so you never need to use confidential or employer data. This course is designed and delivered independently by Ohio Computer Academy and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic or OpenAI.

Why This Course Is in Demand

AI can suggest a fix or a script in seconds, but running an unchecked command on a live system can create a bigger problem.

AI for IT Support & System Admins builds these skills through practical work, with a habit of checking AI output before it is used.
