AI for Data Analytics & Power BI Overview

This hands-on course builds on the BI experience you already have, so it does not start you from zero. Across eight Skill Sprints, you use Claude and ChatGPT with Power BI Desktop and SQL on practice data, and every Skill Sprint ends with a small result you can use, explain, or build on.

  • Mostly hands on: you build each skill by doing it

  • A checking habit: you learn to catch AI errors and defend your numbers

  • Guidance throughout: progress reviews show where you need support and what to do next

  • Two tracks: choose workplace growth or job search, with shared data skills at the core

Delivered using OCA’s Skill Sprint™ Method with hands-on practice, real-world exercises, and instructor-led feedback.

Prerequisites

The following are needed before you start:

  • Working experience with Power BI or a similar BI tool, however recent

  • A Windows computer with Power BI Desktop installed

  • Claude and ChatGPT accounts, with the plans confirmed before you start

  • Looking for Work track: your current resume and LinkedIn profile

All practice data and a SQL practice setup are included in your course material, so you never need to use confidential or employer data. This course is designed and delivered independently by Ohio Computer Academy and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic, OpenAI, or Microsoft.

Why This Course Is in Demand

AI tools can draft queries, formulas, and summaries in seconds, but a confident answer is not always a correct one. In analytics, a wrong number can reach a decision maker quickly, so the valuable skill is knowing how to direct AI and check what it produces.

AI for Data Analytics & Power BI builds that skill through practical work in the tools analysts already use, whether your next step is growth in your current role or a new one.
